Lethbridge's Victory Church Celebrates 25th Anniversary
Victory Christian Fellowship (VCF), in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada celebrated it's 25th anniversary on Mother's Day, May 9th, 2004. VCF was the first church planted by Drs. George and Hazel Hill in 1979. They pastored the church until 1988 and then turned the church over to Pastor Dick and Joan Dewert. Pastor Dick and Joan pastored the church until 1997 when they turned it over to the current pastors; Pastor Kirbey and Heidi Lockhart.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary, Drs. George and Hazel invited Victory pastors to join them for an evening of fellowship on Friday evening, May 7th. The pastors had a wonderful time sharing their funniest ministry stories.
The pastors and church leaders joined the Hills for a training session on Saturday morning followed by a luncheon. During the afternoon the pastors had the opportunity to tour the various Victory Churches and ministries in Lethbridge. These included The Gate, Dominion Gateway, The Miracle Channel and Victory Christian Fellowship. Visitors also had the opportunity to tour the water tower that was purchased by a member of VCF and is being converted to a restaurant.
VCF's Sunday morning service was also a wonderful celebration as the congregation members were joined by local politicians for the anniversary celebration. Dr. George Hill preached a wonderful message on "Covenant" to the congregation. The week-end culminated with a wonderful lunch after the morning's service.
The week-end also marked the Hills 25th anniversary in ministry!
