VCI's Second Afro Conference 2004
VCI's national directors from 7 African nations joined Drs. George and Hazel Hill in Lagos, Nigeria for the 2nd Victory Afro Conference in March 2004. Dr. Timothy & Mercy Ifedioranma, VCI's national director for Nigeria, hosted the 8-day, power-packed conference. Dr. George Black, who introduced Dr. Timothy to Victory Churches, also attended the conference along with a team from California Victory Church, Canada and Mississippi, USA.
The day sessions saw the assembled pastors taught by the team members on such diverse topics as "How to Handle Church Crisis", "Kingdom Economic Principles" and "Children's Ministry". During the evening crusades, Drs. George and Hazel spoke Holy Spirit inspired messages imparting the Victory vision of Church planting. The altar ministry was used by God to baptize many in the Holy Spirit and to set the oppressed free. Fifty-seven new Victory Churches of Nigeria were welcomed into the family. Twenty-eight students graduated from the Victory Bible College of Nigeria, 59 pastors and leaders were ordained and 31 were licensed. Each national leader received a suitcase filled with gifts from the churches in the USA and Canada.
Mike Corbett, a Canadian participating in his first Victory Missions trip commented, "I came away with the friendship of brothers and sisters in the Lord from many African nations. I hope and pray to see them all again in the near future. Was it worthwhile? Yes! Would I repeat the experience? Try stopping me!"
We encourage all of our Victory leaders and congregation members to go on a short-term Missions trip. It is a life-changing experience.
