VCI India Conference 2004
MIRACLES IN INDIA!
"And the power of the Lord was present to heal them." Luke 5:17.
This passage of Scripture is clearly applicable for the VCI India National Conference held in November 2003. Drs. George and Hazel Hill, along with three individuals from the USA and the UK were the guest speakers at the conference. Numerous miracles of healing and salvation were present during the evening services.
During the crusade service in Siliguri, a city close to the Nepal and Chinese border, the team felt the presence of Jesus was there to heal. As soon as Dr. George finished his message, people rushed to the alter to accept Jesus as their Saviour. This was followed by many miracles of healings. Cripples began to walk across the stage as the team laid their hands on them and prayed. Cries went up in different areas of the building as loved ones saw their family member healed. Many testified of all kinds of healing in their bodies that night.
The following day saw similar moving of the Spirit of God. That evening as Pastor Hazel Hill preached, the power of God fell again for salvation and healing as the altars filled up. This time tumors disappeared and the deaf received their hearing! Families brought their children for the laying on of hands; cripples walked; tumors disappeared; the deaf heard for the first time and many were baptized in the Holy Spirit .
In addition to the evening crusades, the team provided leadership training sessions during the days. There was also graduation for the Bible College, beauty and sewing students and ordination of pastors during the conference.
Dr. Hazel Hill, VCI Missions director, arrived in New Delhi a few days before the conference began to visit the slum, sewing and beauty schools that she helped to start 10 years ago. On one such visit Dr. Hazel asked the children who Jesus was to them. One little boy with his raggedy clothing and dirty little face stood to his feet and said, " Jesus is not only my Savior, but He is my healer also. I was once an epileptic and would be thrown into fits, but Jesus healed me and now I don't have those fits anymore.
Dr. Hazel reports that it was a blessing to see the fruit from the seed that was planted when she helped to start the sewing and slum schools 10 years ago. Literally thousands of women have been saved from the terrible bride burning practice among the poor women of India. Many children are now educated and able to get better jobs. It was a blessing to see that some of the original slum children that joined our Victory school so long ago are now in higher education and have moved out of the slums forever. How wonderful to have had a small part in changing lives. The greatest blessing is that these women and children now have their names written in the book of life!
Dr. Jey and Lizzie Jeyaseelan, VCI National leaders for India, hosted the conference. They are doing a remarkable work spreading the Gospel across India.
